Its the time of year where if you really are SERIOUS about being in the best shape possible for Summer then the action starts now….times running out for excuses and binges!
Its the start of May, Summer holidays for some of us might be as little as a month away!!!
Ask yourself the question, “If i continue eating and drinking the way I am and training the way I am will I achieve my goal of being the best I can be for the summer?”
Every single person who walks into our environment trains hard, thats 100% factual. Thats the easy part of the process believe it or not.
The difficult part is getting right what you do outside of the gym……..being swayed into doing things you probably know are detrimental to your goals but repeatedly doing so. Its a case of one step forwards two steps back….
SO, whats the solution?
TRACK YOUR CALORIES OVER A WHOLE WEEK…….7 DAYS!!!!
MyFitnessPal (MFP) is an absolutely amazing FREE app which tells you exactly what you’re doing so long as you input all of the information. By that I mean putting everything into the app and not accidentally forgetting that bar of chocolate or couple of pints you sunk on a random Thursday night.
Losing body fat is a simple formula…….
Be in a calorific deficiency over a period of time.
Two or three days a week does not equate to a period of time in the hunt for fat loss BUT it will make you feel mentally better about yourself.
Consistent days and weeks of a deficiency will = FAT LOSS!
*If you feel like you need help with this ask one of the staff in the gym and they can show you how to set up your MFP account and your calorie needs etc so that you can stop guessing and start knowing exactly whats what when it comes to calories.
Reminder that the Thursday night strength session with Alex is going to follow a different format moving forward. The biggest benefit of this will allow you to track progress a lot easier by carrying out a workout pattern over the course of a month and then testing at the end of each block. Its sometimes very easy to forget where you were weeks ago so this system should allow all attendees to really work hard and reap the results come month end.
TF GAMES – We loved it! Our biggest success and takeaway points were that every single person who turned up to compete completed the full day. For some people that in itself would’ve been impossible to visualise a few months ago. Our long term members were also a credit -helping out where needed and getting every ounce of effort and determination out of each and every team mate.
We have pencilled in the end of September for the second TF Games but information will be announced nearer the date.
It would be fantastic to see even more members put faith in themselves and step up to the challenge in front of us.
MERCHANDISE – With the summer on the horizon we will be ordering new a new range of vests, t shirts and caps etc. If you’d like to place an order just have a flick through the catalogue at reception and add your order to the sheet pinned to the wall near the reception.
TEAMUP: Keep logging into your sessions, it really does help us and its a service we pay for so we hope to use it the best we can 🙂
GYM ETIQUETTE: As the days get warmer no doubt the gym will slowly become a little furnace so please can we ensure that we bring gym towels with us and wipe down any machines we use so that the next person to use it can do so in a pleasant setting.
